Kaikkiaan seitsemän ihmistä sai surmansa, mukaan lukien potilas, hänen äitinsä, sekä erään avustamisen osaston jäsen. Tapahtuma jätti jälkeensä myös useita loukkaantuneita: peräti 19 ihmistä, jotka olivat sattumalta paikalla ja saivat osuman tulipalosta.
Kaupungin viranomaiset ovat kehottaneet asukkaita olemaan varovaisia jatkaessaan arkea. Jos havaitset lentokoneyhteydestä maassa, soitto 911:een voi olla pelastava tekijä. On myös syytä muistaa, että lentoliikenteessä on aina omat riskinsä, mutta se, että koneen mukana oli nuorin potilas kaikkien mukana, tekee tämän tragedian vieläkin sydäntäsärkevämmäksi. Philadelphiassa lentoasema ja äkkiä Sinne-päiviin on päättynyt – matkustajien turvallisuus on ensisijalla, mutta joskus se ei riitä!
