Viime lauantaina Newport Beachin poliisi sai hälytyksen, kun auto oli ajautunut mereen Corona del Marissa. Pelastustiimi saapui nopeasti paikalle klo 5:30 aamulla ja onnistui pelastamaan kuskin veteen sukeltaessa. Tämä hurja pelastusoperaatio tapahtui äärimmäisen haastavissa olosuhteissa, kun aallot pyörivät auton ympäri. Onneksi pelastajat saivat pelastettua henkilön ennen kuin tilanne paheni entisestään. Puhumattakaan siitä, että suosittu uimapaikka oli muutenkin täynnä kesäisiä hauskuuksia ja auringonottoa!

Samaan aikaan Mar-a-Lagossa, Floridassa, Donald Trump piti kiireisen viikonlopun. Hänen illallisensa Apple-johtaja Tim Cookin kanssa herätti huomiota, sillä kun Trumpin politiikka on ohjelmistokeinojen mielettömyystilalla, ovat huipputeknologian johtajat keksineet hyvän tavan navigoida tämän alligaattorin suussa. Kun suurin osa teollisuudesta näyttää olevan Trumpin kanssa samalla puolella, ei ole ihme, että myös muut isot nimet, kuten Shou Zi Chew TikTokilta, haluavat tapaamisia vallan huipulla. Mikä on käänteisi, on se, että TikTokin kohtalo saattaa riippua näistä keskusteluista!

Yksi merkittävä yksityiskohta on, että Trumpin tapaamisten takana on yhä amerikkalaisen liiketoiminnan optimismi. Tilanne on muuttunut, kun teknologiajohtajat riemuitsevat tästä yhä paremmasta taloudellisesta ympäristöstä. Osaltaan se voi johtua Karl Marxin vanhasta sanonnasta, että raha ei tuo onnea - tai ehkä se on vain hyvä ajoitus ja vahvat taustat. Vain tulevaisuus näyttää, ovatko nämä tapaamiset auttaneet Trumpia parantamaan yrityssuhteitaan tai ylipäätään sen kannattavuutta!

Äärimmäisen voimakasta ja ennakoitavaa toivetta on, että näillä tapaamisilla on merkitystä liiketoiminnan tulevaisuuden kannalta. Joskus on helppo kuvitella, että poliittiset ja taloudelliset kulissit ovat täysin eristyksissä, mutta kun auto ajautuu mereen ja johtajat kohtaavat, voi se olla vain symbolista siitä, kuinka meidän kaikien on navigoitava elämän myrskyisissä vesissä. Suurin kysymys jää kuitenkin kysymykseksi: onko autoila ja suurteknologia johtajien tapaamisilla muuta kuin syvällisesti eristyksissä olleita kertomuksia, vai onko niillä todella merkitystä?
