Liverpool kohtasi Fulhamin Premier Liigan jännittävässä ottelussa Anfieldilla, ja tunnelma oli katossa, kun molemmat joukkueet asettuivat kentälle. Tämä ei ollut mikä tahansa ottelu; Liverpoolin punaiset fanit olivat toivoneet, että joukkue lunastaisi asemansa sarjataulukon huipulla. Ottelu oli täynnä jännitystä, ja Fulham pääsi nopeasti johtoon. Liverpool puolestaan näytti sen mestariluonteen, josta se on tunnettu, ja kurottautui tasoihin jo ennen taukoa Diogo Jotan maalin myötä. Fulham kuitenkin löysi uudestaan rytminsä ja päätti iskeä vielä kerran, uudelleen ottaen johdon. Liverpoolin kokoonpano kärsi suurta painetta, mutta fanit eivät luovuttaneet toivon.

Jatkotunteet olivat kiihkeitä, ja Liverpool teki kaiken voitavansa saadakseen vielä edes yhden pisteen mukaansa. Kun kello käytti henkäysviimeisiä hetkiä, Jota hyppäsi näyttämölle jälleen ja syöksi venyttelemään verkkoa, varmistaen huikean tasoituksen ja fanien riemun. Liverpoolin taistelunhaluisuus näkyi selvästi, ja vaikka peli päättyikin 2-2, joukkueen sitoutuminen ansaitsi huudot "You'll Never Walk Alone".

Liverpoolin luotsi Arne Slot oli tyytyväinen joukkueensa taisteluhenkeen, vaikka hän tiesi tilanteen olevan haastava. Hän kehui pelaajien kykyä toipua vaikeudesta, mutta totesi myös, että joukkueen on parannettava puolustustaan tulevissa otteluissa. Mielenkiintoista on, että Liverpoolin pelissä pelattiin myös kesällä jälleen niinkin merkittävä ottelu, että he jopa voittivat Fulhamin iltapäivän auringon alla, joten tämä on ollut kilpailu, joka on jättänyt jälkensä molempiin joukkueisiin.

Tämä ottelu toi esille myös mielenkiintoisen tilaston: Liverpool on yhdessä vain kolmessa pelissä ollut 10 miehen hyökkäyksessä viimeisimpien viikkojen aikana ja joka kerta se on onnistunut saamaan pisteitä, mikä kertoo joukkueen henkevästä jaksamisesta. Toisaalta Fulham teki vaikutuksen pelin aikana ja esitti, että voiman ylittäminen ei aina vaadi täydellistä joukkuetta, vaan myös sydäntä ja taistelua. Tämä ottelu muistetaan varmasti pitkään, ja se nosti jälleen esiin ensin mainitun Football After Dark!
