SpaceX on jälleen kerran ylittänyt itsensä avaruustekniikan kentällä! Viimeisin esitys tapahtui, kun yritys laukaisi valtavan Starship-rocketinsa ja sai kiinni sen 20-kerroksisen Super Heavy -pohjan ensimmäistä kertaa koskaan. Sen sijaan, että raketti olisi pudonnut hyllylle, SpaceX:n mekaaniset kädet vangitsivat sen takaisin laskeutumispaikalle – suoritus, joka sai monet avaruusfanit ja insinöörit hämilleen ilosta. Kierrätettävien rakettien ei ainoastaan tarvitse olla kestäviä, vaan niiden täytyy olla myös taloudellisia. Starshipin kaltainen kehitys tulee olemaan ratkaisevaa ihmiskunnan avaruusmatkailun laajentamisessa. Tiesitkö muuten, että SpaceX:n ensimmäinen menestyksekäs rakettirekka (Falcon 9) käytti samaa periaatetta toimintafilosofianaan? Kierrätettävät raketit saattavat olla avain tulevaisuuden avaruusmatkojen taloudellisuuteen, ja nyt suunta on selkeä!
