Kun puhutaan itseluottamuksesta ja osaamisesta, mielessä nousee usein Dunning-Kruger-efekti, jossa henkilöt, joilla on rajallista osaamista, yliarvioivat kyvykkyytensä. Tämä psykologinen ilmiö ei ole vain hassu nimitys, vaan se saattaa myös johtaa hauskoihin tilanteisiin elämässämme. Tähän ilmiöön törmäämme ainakin sosiaalisessa mediassa, jossa useat jakavat hauskoja reseptejä jopa elintarvike- ja uskontopäivinä, kuten Yom Kippurina.

Taannoin New York Times julkaisi artikkelin "Parhaat Rosh Hashanah ja Yom Kippur-reseptit", ja Facebook täyttyi naurusta. Monet, jotka nauttivat syömisestä, ja kuuntelivat ilolla muiden oivalluksia, tuskin tiesivät, että jotkut tarjosivat reseptejä jopa paastonaikoina. Loppupähkinä: Dunning-Kruger-efekti voi aiheuttaa outoja tilanteita ja joskus jopa huumoria saadaan irti epävarmuudesta. Robottitaksit muuttavat ajokäytäntöjä, mutta muistathan myös sen, että ruoassa, kuten elämässä, traditionaaliset makutavat voivat tuoda mukanaan haasteita, mutta myös juhlia.
