Kreml ei pelkää Putinin mahdollista pidätystä Mongoliassa. Kuinka venäläinen presidentti aiotaan vastaanottaa ICC:n jäsenvaltiossa?
Venäjän presidentti Vladimir Putin on tulossa vierailulle Mongoliaan ensi viikolla, vaikka hänen kohdallaan on voimassa kansainvälinen pidätysmääräys sotarikoksista. Kreml on ilmoittanut, ettei se ole huolissaan mahdollisista pidätyksistä, vaikka Mongolia on Kansainvälisen rikostuomioistuimen (ICC) jäsen. Kirkkaalta taivaalta on tullut varoituksia, mutta Putinin suunnitelmat eivät näytä horjuvan, ja matka on herättänyt kysymyksiä siitä, miten nämä eri oikeusjärjestelmät tulevat kohtaamaan toisensa Mongolian valtavalla tasangolla.

Vaikka presidentti Putinille tarjoiltaisiin hieno matka Mongolian vuoristoon, kysymykset oikeudellisista asioista varjostavat tätä vierailua.
Putinin vierailu tulee siis olemaan enemmän kuin pelkkä tilaisuus syödä mongolialaisia lihapullia ja ihailla aavaa taivasta. Se on myös tilaisuus ymmärtää, kuinka geopoliittiset suhteet ja kansainväliset sopimukset toimivat kriisitilanteissa. Pidetään huolta, siis, että keskustelut ainakaan eivät hanurista putoa!
