Céline Dion tyrmää Trumpin kampanjan ja sen kammottavan käytön 'My Heart Will Go On' -kappaleesta – voiko näiden kahden kohtalo olla yhtä synkkä kuin Titanicin?

Céline Dion on taas otsikoissa, mutta ei pelkästään upean laulunsa takia, vaan myös siksi, että hänen ikimuistoista kappalettaan "My Heart Will Go On" käytettiin Donald Trumpin kampanjatilaisuudessa ilman hänen lupaansa.

Dion julkaisi julkisen lausunnon, jossa hän moitti entisen presidentin kampanjaa, ja kysyi provosoivasti: "Ja todella, se on tuo kappale?" Faktahan on, että kyseessä on teema laulusta, joka liittyy elokuvan Titanicin traagiseen tarinaan, mikä tekee tämän kammottavasta käytöstä entistäkin hulvattomampaa. Sony Music myös puuttui asiaan ja vahvisti, että käyttö oli täysin luvaton.

Dionin kommentit eivät ole vain artistin puolustamista vaan myös muistutus, että musiikkia ei pitäisi käyttää väärin, varsinkin jos se liittyy syviin tunteisiin ja traagisiin historieriin.

Vaikka Céline Dionin ja Donald Trumpin yhdistäminen on jo itsessään melkoista draamaa, kuulimme viime viikolla myös eräästä hänen hääpuvustaan, joka oli enemmän kuin yliampuva! Tai ehkäpä se olikin vain toinen aikakausi, jossa elämä oli yhtä suurenmoista kuin Titanic laivana. Hääpuvut ja poliittiset draamat - ehkä nämä kaksi voisivat oppia toistensa vastoinkäymisistä?

Ja vaikka Celine Dion on tunnettu äänestään, on hyvä muistaa, että hänen hääpäivänsä 17. joulukuuta 1994 oli itse asiassa 'Don’t Let Go’ -kappaleen aikana upea esitys.
