Pariisissa järjestettävät olympialaiset toivat yhteen kaksi urheilumaailman jännittävintä kilpailijaa: Norjan Jakob Ingebrigtsenin ja Britannian Josh Kerrin. Näiden kahden juoksijan välillä on ollut yli puolen vuoden ajan kova sanasota, ja kaikki odottivat, että tiistai-illan 1500 metrin finaalissa nähtäisiin mahtava kamppailu. Kilpailun jälkeen Ingebrigtsen tunnusti, että häntä hidasti henkinen taakka ja kilpailun intensiivisyys. Vaikka hän oli valmistautunut, kokemus ei mennyt suunnitelmien mukaan, ja hänen katseensa on nyt kääntynyt kohti seuraavia haasteita. Kerr taas vähätteli omaa suoritustaan, mutta myönsi, että kilpailun paineet olivat valtavat, ja kisan ajatukset olivat energisoivia.

Kaikesta huolimatta Hockerin voitto on yksi 2024 vuoden olympialaisten suurimmista yllätyksistä, ja hänellä on nyt mahdollisuus loistaa myös tulevissa kilpailuissa.
