Wembleyn stadion on valmistautunut huolellisesti Champions League -finaaliin vahvistamalla turvatoimiaan. Ensimmäisen peliminuutin aikana tapahtuneet kenttävaltaukset pysäyttivät ottelun, vaikka turvatoimet olivatkin parannettu lauantain peliä varten. Poliisi teki 53 pidätystä yrittäjien estämiseksi ja otti haltuunsa 11 henkilöä. Vaikuttavaa kuvamateriaalia osoittaa suuren joukon ihmisten hyppäävän aitojen yli ja rynnivän lipunmyyntipisteille ikonisella Lontoon stadionilla. Champions League -finaali jouduttiin keskeyttämään vain minuutin pelin jälkeen, kun kolme kenttään tunkeutunutta henkilöä saapuivat paikalle.

Euroopan Cupin finaaleista eniten isäntänä toiminut Wembley-stadion ei ole koskaan nähnyt turnauksen menestyneintä joukkuetta, Real Madridia. Stadionille tunkeutui myös faneja ilman lippuja, vaikka turvatoimet olivat korkealla ennen Champions League -finaalia. Vaikka Wembleyn stadion on yksi maailman upeimmista peliareenoista, siellä ei silti nähdä lajin menestyneintä joukkuetta kaukana välttyneestä kaaoksesta.
