Haitin kriisi pahenee gangsteriväkivallan keskellä

child safety - education - food crisis - gang violence - gun flow - Haiti - humanitarian crisis - international police - non-profit evacuation - security mission - UN - US citizens

YK:n asiantuntija vaatii Haitille välitöntä apua tilanteen stabiloimiseksi - lukuisia ihmisiä on menehtynyt ja lasten aliravitsemuksen uhka kasvaa.

Haitin gangsteriväkivalta ja humanitaarinen kriisi jatkuvat huolestuttavina. YK:n asiantuntijan mukaan yli 1500 ihmistä on kuollut väkivallan ja kaaoksen keskellä tänä vuonna. Raportti vaatii välitöntä YK-tuen turvallisuusoperaation käynnistämistä. Haitissa tarvittaisiin jopa 5000 poliisia tilanteen ratkaisemiseksi. Lisäksi Yhdysvaltain kansalaiset pakenivat Haitista kasvavan väkivallan keskellä, korostaen alueen jatkuvaa humanitaarista kriisiä.
